PFUJ, Apnec plan protests from 8th


KARACHI, April 5: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC) have announced a countrywide protest campaign from April 8 to May 13 against non-implementation of the Seventh Wage Award and elimination of the contract system in newspaper establishments, says a PFUJ press release. During the campaign newspaper employees will wear black arm band on April 8 followed by protest meetings in the respective units in different newspaper centres on April 15. All the CBA unions will hold their general body meetings on April 26.

May Day meetings will be organized with the cooperation of other trade unions and rallies will be held on International Press Freedom Day on May 3.
