WASHINGTON, April 5: The US president has said there should be “no expansion” of Israeli settlements in Palestinian controled territories under the Washington-backed “roadmap” to Middle East peace. “Our position is very clear, that the roadmap is important, and the roadmap calls for no expansion of the settlements,” President George W. Bush said. He was talking to reporters here on Tuesday. In about six days, President Bush is to meet Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.—AFP
