First round exit for Shahid: Squash


ISLAMABAD, April 5: Pakistan’s Shahid Zaman made an early exit from the Bermuda Open when he lost his first round match against Nick Mathew of England.

According to the reports available on Tuesday, the English star just took 34 minutes to rout World No. 15 Shahid Zaman in straight games 11-8, 11-4, 11-4.

Meanwhile, Scotland’s world No11 John White got the Virtual Spectator Bermuda PSA Masters off to a truly sensational start with a narrow five-game win overWelshman Alex Gough. He won 9-11, 11-5, 11-6, 8-11, 11-10 (2-0).

It was the first day of the $120,000 PSA Super Series event which boasts the world’s top 31 squash players - the biggest and best sporting event ever held in Bermuda.
