KARACHI, April 5: A meeting of the steering committee formed by the governor, State Bank of Pakistan Governor, for beautification of the I.I. Chundrigar Road was held on Tuesday. The meeting, chaired by the City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, and held at his office, reviewed the project regarding beautification of the road. It stressed improving traffic flow on the road and discussed various proposals in this regard. The EDO Transport, Dr Tahir Soomro, suggested introducing contraflow lane on the road for improving the flow and safety of traffic.
The meeting agreed to a plan of alternate routes and flyovers to reduce the pressure of traffic on the road. The meeting also decided that a new sewage line be laid from the GPO to the Shaheen Complex.—PPI
