KARACHI, April 4: A delegation of Defence Society Residents Association (DSRA) called on DHA Administrator Brig Maqsood Hussain at the housing authority’s main office here on Monday to discuss the resident’s problems. The DHA administrator talking to the members of the delegation expressed the hope that the resident societies would play a significant role towards creating vibrant living environments in the DHA by acting as a bridge between the housing authority and the residents.
He said that the DHA had decided to regularly invite the representatives of resident societies in the pre-budget meetings of the authority to get their invaluable input while planning the development projects.
On a proposal by the delegation for improving the existing house-to-house garbage collection system in the DHA, the administrator said that an improvised sanitary and garbage system would soon be adopted in accordance with the wishes of the residents.
He informed the delegation that the proposal for constructing underground parking in commercial areas of Defence was being looked into from the point of view of technical feasibility, availability of space and soil conditions and a decision would be taken accordingly soon.
Mr Hussain said that besides establishing a desalination plant, the DHA had also re-laid the entire water supply lines in the locality to ensure smooth flow and judicious distribution of water.
