Taufiq sparkles for champions

KARACHI, April 3: Taufiq Umar, the Test opener, returned to form with a run-a-ball 102 to help defending champions Habib Bank beat National Bank by 36 runs in the Patron’s Cup one-day Pool ‘B’ tie at the Iqbal Stadium (Faisalabad) on Sunday. Taufiq, who hit 12 fours and one six, inspired Habib Bank to 284 for five in the 50 overs.

National Bank responded with 248 before they were all out in the 45th over with off-spinner Salman Qadir capturing four for 48.
