Durrani thanks MMA activists for observing peaceful strike

PESHAWAR, April 3: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has thanked the people of the province for remaining peaceful during the Saturday’s strike called by the MMA.

Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the supply of gas to Momin Town at Dalazak road here on Sunday, Mr Durrani said that during earlier strikes that was called by other political parties, some elements damaged public and private property which was a matter of concern for the government. “But our people remained peaceful,” he said.

The chief minister said that the MMA-led provincial government would not disappoint people of the NWFP.

Mr Durrani said that his government was sincere in solving people’s problems.

He said that a project was under study for the supply of water to the city from the Warsak Dam in order to prevent the spread of hepatitis.

He said that the provincial government had allotted 25 kanals of land in Hayatabad for the construction of a hospital for cardio-vascular diseases where patients would be treated free.
