Teacher shot dead by students

LAHORE, April 3: A schoolteacher was shot dead and another man was found murdered in separate incidents in the city on Sunday.

Police said Shaukat Ali, 35, of Raiwind used to teach in a school. His family told police that three students, who wanted him to pass them in examination, opened fire on him when he refused them.

The students, unidentified so far, escaped and the teacher got serious injuries. He died in hospital. His body was sent to the city mortuary. A case was registered with no arrest.

Feroz Khan, 40, was found murdered at his rented house in Huma Block of Allama Iqbal Town. His father-in-law Muhammad Iqbal said he visited him, and found him lying in a pool of blood. He had been hit by a blunt weapon in his head, the police said.

Iqbal denied any enmity. A case was registered with no arrest.
