KABUL, April 2: Eleven people were killed and eight others wounded in four incidents in Afghanistan, marking a surge in an anticipated Taliban offensive against the US-led coalition and Afghan forces, police and the interior ministry said on Saturday. Dozens of suspected Taliban attacked government offices in Disho district of the Helmand province on Saturday, killing four policemen and injuring three others, provincial intelligence chief Dad Mohammad told AFP.

A three-truck convoy was ambushed in the town of Spin Boldak in which all three truck drivers, including two Pakistanis, were killed and the insurgents burned their vehicle, Kandahar police chief Mohammad Ayoob Salangi said.—AFP
