HYDERABAD, April 1: The Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mr Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, has said that efforts are being made to promote the culture of Sindh throughout the world.
Speaking at a cultural show performed by the visiting Bangladeshi group of artists at the Hyderabad Club on Wednesday, he said recently a group of Sindhi artists visited Dubai where it performed very well and other similar groups would be sent to the Central Asia to project the Sindhi culture there.
The show was organized by the district government in collaboration with the Historical and Educational Society of Hyderabad.
He said exchange of cultural groups would further strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries.
Accepting the invitation of the deputy high commissioner of Bangladesh, the minister for culture said the Sindh government would also send a group of artists and intellectuals to Bangladesh.
The deputy high commissioner of Bangladesh, Mr Mohammad Abdul Hanan, lauded the hospitality of the district government and said visit of the Bangladeshi delegation was aimed at to strengthen brotherly cultural relations.
District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman said Hyderabad had a rich traditional background and the district government intended to project it throughout the world as such the district government would also invite all foreign visiting groups to Hyderabad.
EDO community development Ibrahim Qureshi and the chairman of the Historical and Education Society, Nazar Mohammad Qureshi, also spoke on the occasion.
NOORIABAD SITE: DPO (Jamshoro) Javed Alam Odho has assured industrialists of the Nooriabad SITE of protection.
He said this while inaugurating “Madadgar Centre 15” which has been established with the cooperation of the Nooriabad Executive Club on Wednesday.
He said that the establishment of the centre would create a sense of security among the entrepreneurs.
He said peaceful residents, especially industrialists, hated a visit to a police station and added that the centre would help resolve security problems of the industrialists.
He directed policemen to remove encroachments in the Nooriabad SITE within one week.
He further directed that services of six police constables and an ASI should be placed at the disposal of the Nooriabad Executive Club and one additional van and an ambulance should be provided to the Nooriabad police station.
The club president, Kanwar Zia-ur-Rehman, in his welcome speech, underlined problems of the industrialists.
