MULTAN, April 1: Five children of a family were burnt alive on Friday in Khairpur Saadat village of Muzaffargarh district. Reports reaching here revealed that Shakir, Aasia, Irfan, Rehana and Sajid (aged between 4 and 7 years) plucked a few cobs from standing wheat crop and were trying to roast them when surrounding dry bushes caught fire and engulfed them. Four of them died on the spot while Irfan succumbed to his burn wounds at the Muzaffargarh district headquarters hospital.
