KARACHI, March 31: A passenger of a minibus was seriously wounded on resistance when unknown armed suspects barged into the vehicle and tried to deprive the passengers of valuables near the Civil Hospital on Thursday.

The police said two armed suspects boarded the minibus of route N at Bhimpura.

As the suspects were looting valuables, cash and cellphones from the passengers, Bashir, 35, offered resistance, who was shot in the chest. Another passenger, Shafqat Ali, was also slightly wounded. Police said the suspects fled along with the valuables.

The wounded were rushed to the nearby Civil Hospital, where Bashir was admitted in a serious condition.

KILLED: A man was killed by unknown persons in Defence on Thursday. Police said that neighbours informed the police about stench emanating from a house in Hazara Colony. Police came and recovered the eight-day-old body of Samabdar Khan, 40.

The victim, a scrap dealer, had been strangulated with a scarf around his neck, police said.

MISSING: A member of a student organization is missing since Tuesday morning. According to a spokesman for the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba, Mohammad Munsif, a student of the Jinnah College Nazimabad had left his house in Qayoumabad on Tuesday morning for college. However, he never reached the college.

According to reports, he was beaten by the members of APMSO near Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the spokesman added.
