FAISALABAD, March 14: The Higher Education Commission has approved Rs37.770 million funds for the establishment of a well-equipped laboratory, besides computers and books, for the students of BS (Hons) programme at the GC University.
This was stated by the varsity Vice-Chancellor Dr Asif Iqbal, while talking to journalists here on Monday. The HEC would provide the funds in the current financial year for the project prepared by Faculty of Sciences and Technology dean and director academics and research.
He further said the establishment of laboratory would promote scientific and technological research, which would play a crucial role in catering to the scientific and industrial needs of the country.
He pointed out that the equipment to be provided to the faculty and students would major experimental work in the newly-introduced disciplines such as Bioinformatics, Environmental Sciences and Industrial Chemistry.
The VC said the facilities generated through this project would help improve the quality of teaching in the disciplines of Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, and Mathematics in the BS Honours programme. — Correspondent
