SHEIKHUPURA, March 7: The alleged slackness of Nadra staffers has been inconveniencing the people seeking computerized ID cards in this town. Long queues can be seen daily in front of Nadra's district offices here , while the office staff seem to be unable to manage the rush.

This was stated by a number of applicants who had to queue up for hours on Monday. They demanded that the services at the office be expedited so that the people could get their CNICs at the earliest. The office in charge, however, said the working was smoothly.

VEHICLES FINED: Police have challaned 650 vehicles during the last two months for violating traffic rules. This was said by district traffic police in-charge Wazir Ali Dogar and city inspector Agha Mehmood Khan in a press briefing here.

He said 350 vehicles, including buses, wagons, trucks, oil tankers, rickshaws and motorcycles, were impounded. Agha Mehmood told journalists that seven driving licences and three route permits were also cancelled.

Overloading and overcharging would strictly be checked throughout the district, Mr Dogar said, adding that all possible efforts would be made for smooth traffic while illegal bus and wagon stops had been eliminated. He said encroachers had also been directed to remove their encroachments from main roads.
