QUETTA: Boy killed, five hurt in blast

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Feb 18: A boy was killed and five people were injured in an explosion on the Haji Ghabi Road on Friday.

According to police, the blast occurred after a boiler in a barber shop burst, destroying three adjoining shops and a house where the boy was killed.

The roof of the house of Haji Lal Jan collapsed and its walls were damaged by the blast. "The explosion occurred due to accumulation of gas," Inspector General of Police Chaudhry Yaqoob told journalists.

However, area people were of the view that it was a rocket attack. According to them, the rocket landed and exploded on the roof of the house. "Something hit our roof before the explosion, an injured, Aminullah, said and added that it could be a rocket or a bomb. Police denied any rocket attack and said investigations were in progress.
