New dates announced

LAHORE, Feb 11: The new dates for the Aga Khan tournament announced by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Friday are clashing with an international junior competition scheduled to be held in Lahore from March 7 to 13.

The Aga Khan event which was to be held from Feb 15 to 22 now will be played at Army Hockey Stadium, Rawalpindi from March 5 to 13. The PHF also announced that national umpires and coaches clinics would be organized from March 8 to 12.

A PHF spokesman said the dates were changed because the laying of artificial turf at the Army Hockey Stadium, which had been delayed due to rains. Similarly, the Governor's Gold Cup tournament, another important event of the PHF calendar, will be played at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, Peshawar, from March 15 to 25. All the participating teams of Aga Khan tournament will proceed to Peshawar for participation.
