KARACHI Feb 5: The step to register the clubs by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has been hailed by former national football team captain Qadir Bukhsh.

He said that it would improve domestic structure of Pakistan football and help revive the game.

"PFF for the sake of departments and poor club has decided to extend the date of registration of clubs and departments till February 15 which is a wise move," said former skipper.

PFF has asked the club to prepare three sets of registration forms and send one each along with bank draft of Rs1000 to the PFF headquarters, provincial association and District Football Association (DFA).

Qadir played professional soccer in former East Pakistan with Dhaka Muhammadan, EPIDC and Dilkusha Club. He started his career with famous Baghdad Sports Club which produced many international players. He also played for Pakistan PWD and KMC

He represented KMC against K.P.T in the third replayed final of All-Pakistan Prof Abdul Sattar Kohati Tournament 1973-75.

Qadir said that as per the outdated constitution all the departments and provincial associations were directly affiliated with the federation while DFAs had affiliation with the provincial associations and clubs with the DFAs.

He added that it was illogical article of constitution as throughout the world all teams are registered with national body.

Meanwhile, Murad Kolhoro, chairman of the Sindh Football Association said: "it is a fine step to remove people like Abbas Baloch and Agha Liaqat."

Kolhoro hoped that National Sports Policy of President of Pakistan Gen. Pervez Musharraf will eliminate fraud and those who damaged football in Pakistan.-PPI
