ISLAMABAD, Feb 3: Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Captain (retired) Liaqat Ali Khan here on Thursday directed the SHOs of all police stations to take strict action against professional beggars.

The SSP also directed the patrolling officers and Falcons, Eagles of Rescue 15 to take action against beggars seekers under the Begging Act. He ordered all the police stations' heads to form special squads to curb begging.

"Anti-social elements often in guise of beggars carry out the subversive acts and there is a dire need to curb begging profession also harmful for society," he added. Meanwhile, Crime Investigation Authority (CIA) police here on Thursday arrested three persons and recovered illegal weapons from their possession.
