FAISALABAD, Feb 3: A woman and her three children suffered burns as a fire broke out in their house here on Wednesday at Razaabad in Ghulam Muhammadabad police limits.
Reports said furniture lying in a room of Muhammad Saleem's house caught fire due to gas leakage. The fire engulfed the entire room of the house as a result Kishwar Bibi, wife of Saleem, and their three children - Atiya (20), Arsalan (11) and Salman (9) - suffered burns.
The fire-fighters extinguished the fire after hour-long efforts. The injured were shifted to the Allied Hospital where the condition of Kishwar and Salman was stated to be critical.
ARREST: Students of the Government College Tandlianwala took out a rally in protest against the arrest of one of their fellows by police here on Thursday. The rally started from the college and the participants marched through the roads.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the police and demands for the release of their college fellow. They raised slogans against the Tandlianwala police station SHO.
Later, they burnt old tyres and blocked traffic. They alleged that police arrested Muhammad Israr from his house on Tuesday night without any justification. In the meantime, Tandlianwala DSP rushed to the spot and held parleys with the students.
He assured that a fair inquiry would be conducted into the matter and the student would be release if found innocent. On his assurance, the protesting students dispersed peacefully.
When contacted, the DSP said a couple of days ago members of two clans had an altercation over a minor issue. A case had been registered and Israr was arrested due to his involvement in the matter.
