ISLAMABAD: PBC moot's venue

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28: The Pakistan Bar Council on Friday announced the shifting of venue to hold All Pakistan Lawyers Convention (APLC) on Saturday in line with their campaign for the restoration of the 1973 Constitution , independence of judiciary and establishment of true parliamentary democracy in the country.

The convention would be held at Shuhda-i-Punjab Hall, Karachi Bar Association, Karachi, instead of the Sindh High Court Bar Association. Vice-chairman PBC Rasheed A Razvi has given the call to hold the convention.

The topics of discussion in the convention are restoration of the 1973 constitution with particular reference to the 17th amendment, President to Hold Another Office Act 2004, rule of law, independence of judiciary and establishment of true parliamentary democracy.

All members of the provincial bar councils, office-bearers of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), presidents of the high court bar associations, district and tehsil bar associations throughout the country have been invited to attend the convention.
