By Our Correspondent
HYDERABAD, Jan 20: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Wednesday issued notices to the SHO Mithi and two carpet traders to appear in the court on Jan 25 in connection with illegal detention of a boy.
Mohan Meghwar, son of Megho, had filed a constitutional petition, praying for recovery of his brother Senbho, 16.
The petitioner said private respondents, Shakir and Ali, owned carpet looms in Tharparkar. Mr Meghwar said they were very cruel, selfish and greedy and used to hire children for work on low wages.
He said the traders had forced children to compulsory labour and on their refusal they confined them illegally.
Mr Meghwar said their family in Thar was victim of drought and about one and half year back they had taken an advance from Shakir and Ali and left Senbho to work at their loom.
He said six months back respondents deprived him of job and said an amount of Rs8,000 was outstanding against him. He said after 15 days, the respondents came to him and said that his brother should be allowed to work with them and on refusal they kidnapped him.
The petitioner said his brother's life was in danger. He said the Mithi police ignored his grievance and did not register a case against the accused.
