ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: The Lahore High Court's Rawalpindi bench has directed the operation manager of the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL), Toot oil field in Chakwal, to appear before the court in connection with the impounding of a transport contractor's vehicle.

Dr Babar Awan Advocate filed the petition on behalf of Khan Gul and alleged that Zahid Abbas, the OGDCL official, had got his client's vehicle impounded by influencing the police.

The contractor said when he asked the OGDCL official to return the vehicle, as he was no more interested in operating it with the company, the official lodged a case with the police on charge of receiving kickbacks.

As a result, the police impounded the vehicle on November 2. Mr Gul got his vehicle back on Superdari, but it was again seized in December.
