LARKANA: IT centre opened

LARKANA, Jan 3: Sindh Information Technology Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has said 800 free IT awareness centres will be set up in the province, says a press release.

He was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the sixth free information technology computer awareness centre here on Monday.

The minister said the purpose of setting up the centre was to enable poor people to get computer education. He said efforts were being made to promote IT education in the province.

He pointed out that there was no dearth of talent in the province and proper training and education would enable the youths to play their role in development of the country.

He the setting up of free IT centres in the province was a step in that direction. Mr Kamal said since 70 per cent of the population lived in rural areas, it was essential to ensure that they contributed towards the progress of the country.
