ABBOTTABAD, Jan 3: An elderly man and his 62-year-old widowed cousin died of suffocation after they forgot to turn off gas heater in their room on Sunday night.

The victims, Fazlur Rehman, 70, and Nargas Bibi were found dead on Monday morning. They had turned the gas heater in their room, which got extinguished due to low pressure of gas supply.

ROAD MISHAP: A passenger bus hostess was killed and five people were injuries after the bus rammed into a truck near Chamba Pul in Havelian here on Sunday night.

A Daewoo bus (LXC-6009) was going from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi when it hit a truck (BUC-2216) from behind. As a result, the bus hostess, Uzma Meer, resident of Rawalpindi, died on the spot, while bus driver Saleem and four passengers were injured. They were taken to the Havelian Rural Health Centre for treatment. The driver was shifted to Ayub Medical Complex.
