PESHAWAR, Dec 13: A speeding passenger van ran over two aged brothers near the Chairman Stop in the city's Ormar suburbs on Monday. Ali Asghar Khan,70 , and Anwar Khan,65, residents of Ormar Myana, were going on foot when the speeding van hit them, killing both of them on the spot. The driver fled after the accident.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 355kgs of hashish and arrested five persons who were allegedly smuggling the contraband from tribal area to Punjab, said an official statement issued here on Monday.

The ANF team, on a tip off, stopped a car bearing registration number LZ-8405 on Grand Trunk Road near Amangarh in Nowshera district and seized the hashish hid in its secret cavities.

The arrested were identified as Habib Ullah, resident of Takhat Bhai and Ali Subhan, Mohammad Imran, Asif Nadeem and Azhar Butt, all residents of Lahore. The ANF claimed that smugglers had a plan to smuggle the contraband to a foreign country from Punjab.
