PESHAWAR: Compensation, aid for widow


PESHAWAR, Dec 9: IGP NWFP Mohammad Riffat Pasha on Thursday announced the shaheed police package for the widow of constable Khan Bahadur, who recently laid down his life in line of duty the other day, said a press release.

Mr Pasha declared the package during his visit to village Badraga, Malakand Agency, on Thursday where he had gone to condole the death of Khan Bahadur. The constable was gunned down by robbers in a police encounter in the jurisdiction of Serothana, district Charsadda.

The IGP visited the residence of late Bahadur and expressed deep grief and sorrow with his aged father and other family members. The IGP said the constable was a precious asset of police force and by sacrificing his life, he has added a new chapter on courage to the rich history of the Frontier Police.

The IGP announced full incentives under the Shaheed Police Package for the widow of Khan Bahadur which included Rs500,000 and full salary till the attainment of the age of 60 years of the constable and other funds and facilities.

Khan Bahadur had joined police force in 1994 and was married nine months ago. SSP Mardan Qudrat Ullah Marwat and SP Charsadda Kashif Alam also accompanied the IGP during the visit. -APP
