ISLAMABAD: 'All About Lifestyles' show opens tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: A two-day "All About Lifestyles-2004" exhibition, organized by the Dawn Group of Newspapers, will open at the Jinnah Convention Centre here on Saturday.
The exhibition would assemble under one roof all major brands that add to the Pakistani consumers' lifestyles, a press release issued by the organizers said on Thursday. Various activities have been planned to inform and entertain the visitors.
After concluding on Sunday, the event will move to Lahore and then to Karachi. Building on the successes achieved since it was first held in 2001 in Karachi, the exhibition has become the most talked about event of the year.
The exhibition, with free entry, will open at 10am and close daily at 10pm. Over 120 exhibitors will display a wide variety of products and services. A number of interactive Dawn pavilions have been set up.
There are fun and games for children at the 'Young World' pavilion. A separate enclosure for children has been set up where various competitions, including poster collage and general knowledge quiz contests, will be held.
Other activities will include mural painting, face painting, nail art, and card making. Prizes will be given to the winners. A jumping castle and ball pool area will be set up.
The 'Sci-Tech World' pavilion will feature network gaming area, new technology display and other interactive activities. The 'Images' pavilion will display fashion clothing and accessories, a pictorial tribute to Pakistani films over the last 50 years and a street theatre.
A variety of home-made goods, an assortment of furnishings, furniture and other items will be on display at 'The Review' pavilion. Prize-winning and best seller books will be on display at the 'Books and Authors' pavilion.
Renowned and amateur artists will display their work at the 'Gallery's' art bazaar pavilion. Adventure Foundation will give visitors travel advice in the 'Magazine' pavilion. The pavilion will feature travel, health, history and astrology sections.
A range of cuisines has been arranged at the food court. About 25 food stalls with a large seating area will feature regional as well as international cuisines. Hot-air ballooning on both days will provide visitors a chance to view the federal capital from above.
Embassies of different countries will be given space to display and promote their respective country's culture and heritage. Iran, China and Kazakhstan are the participants of the cross-cultural exhibition that will be held on Saturday.
The 'All Breed Championship Dog Show' in collaboration with the Kennel Club of Pakistan will bring to light performances by trained army dogs and will be part of a grand finale of the two- day event on Sunday.
