KARACHI: Man shot dead by robbers

KARACHI, Dec. 3: A young man was shot dead in the limits of Sukhan police station on Friday morning. The victim was identified as Laiq Ahmed, 25, a meat trader. Police said the victim was shot after he tried to resist an armed robbery.

He was taken to the JPMC where he later died during treatment. The killing triggered a wave of anger among the meat traders community, who suspended their work.

ACCIDENT: A policeman died in a road accident late Thursday night near Rashid Minhas Road. Police said that ASI Haider Baig was going on his motorcycle when a speeding car knocked him down near Jauhar Morr.

He was taken to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A 60-year-old man was crushed to death by a locomotive in Landhi on Friday. Police said the victim was identified as Mohammad Nawaz. His body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities.

KILLED: A decomposed body was recovered from a storm water drain in the F.B. Area on Friday. Police said the trussed up body was three to four days old and was recovered from a storm water drain in Block 5. It was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
