HYDERABAD: Welfare schemes finalized

HYDERABAD, Nov 24: The monthly share of the district's union councils has been increased from Rs50,000 to Rs100,000 each from August and the district government has finalized welfare schemes proposed by women , labour and minority members of the council.

It was learnt here on Wednesday that the share would be given to the union councils through the district finance planning. A finance department official said the reserved seat members' welfare schemes of Rs6.1 million were finalized on Wednesday in presence of the members.

Schemes of hand pumps, which would cost Rs600,000, have been finalized earlier. The fresh schemes of women members of the district council, costing Rs4 million, pertained to sewing machines whereas labour and minority councillors had proposed Rs1.5 million schemes of bicycles.
