NEW DELHI, Nov 3: Zahira Sheikh, the key witness in Gujarat's Best Bakery carnage, who virtually paved the way for a review of all the pogrom-related cases, turned upon her protector and human rights activist Teesta Setalvad on Wednesday
, accusing her of extracting false charges against Hindutva politicians.
Ms Sheikh is listed as the main petitioner in the case, which is being heard in Mumbai after its transfer from Gujarat.
She told a news conference in Vadodra that she was coerced into retracting her deposition made before the fast-track court in Vadodra where she had earlier pleaded that she could not identify those accused in the massacre of her family inside the bakery they owned.
