Nationalist party discusses joint draft

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 3: The central committee of the National Party continued its meeting on the second day on Wednesday under the presidentship of Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch.

The committee discussed various suggestions, including preparation of ajoint draft on Balochistan issues to the parliamentary sub-committee at present visiting Quetta.

It lauded the role played by the nationalist parties in highlighting Balochistan problems at the national level. This, it said, forced the government to constitute the parliamentary committee.

The party leaders attending the meeting observed that three issues were very important for Balochistan.

These were: the settlement of outsiders in Gwadar in the name of mega project, establishment of new cantonments and plundering of Balochistan's resources.

They said that the party would resist all these moves with full force, and not allow the implementation of the plans to convert the majority of Baloch people into a minority on their own soil.

The meeting strongly criticized the government for 'weakening' the district government system, and observed that the government was deliberately creating financial and administrative difficulties and district officers were directed not to cooperate with district nazims.
