PML-N criticizes PM: Training offer to Nepalese forces

By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3: PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq has criticized Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for, what he termed, interference in Nepal's internal affairs by offering training to Nepalese security forces.

The PML-N chairman, in a statement issued here on Wednesday, said the decision was an unfortunate one, adding that Pakistan should completely avoid taking sides in the internal affairs of Nepal.

He said siding with the Nepalese government would vex the other side and open a possible front against Pakistan, which he believed would go against the security interests of the country.

The conflict in Nepal was decades old and no neighbouring country had sided with either the government nor the rebels, and Pakistan should follow the same pattern, he added.

Mr Haq said Pakistan was already buried deep in a mountain of problems both external and internal and this move could worsen the security issues.
