KHAIRPUR: No-trust motion approved

KHAIRPUR, Nov 3: The Kot Diji Taluka Council passed a no-confidence motion against Taluka Nazim Rauf Chandio on Wednesday. The motion was tabled against the nazim of the Khairpur Dost Panel by councillor Zameer Hussain Rid of the Awam Dost Panel.

Out of 17 members of the council, 15, led by People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Nawab Khan Wassan, reached the taluka council.

Secret ballot system was adopted wherein all the 15 members present in the house supported the motion and it was passed.

When contacted, the nazim said that he was on a three-day leave from November 1, the passing of the motion was illegal and he would seek remedy from the court.

DEMO: Members of the Khairpur Shehri Ittehad held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday in protest against rising prices of flour and other kitchen items.

Criticizing the district administration for failing to control price hike, they told newsmen that complaints had been made in this regard to the DCO and district nazim but no action had been taken by them.

MNA: PML-F MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah Jilani has said that the only solution to overcome the shortage of irrigation water is the construction of new dams.
