PESHAWAR: Workers want PDA rules restored
By Our Correspondent
PESHAWAR, Oct 28: The City Development and Municipal Department Towns Employees Union has called upon the NWFP government to restore the rules and the procedure of the defunct Peshawar Development Authority (PDA)
to solve problems of its employees now working for the Peshawar district.
According to a press release issued here, the union said employees of the CDMD were facingnumerous problems in all towns since the abolition of the PDA and their distribution into the CDMD. The only solution to their problems was re-establishment of the PDA.
Employees who were working in the city district government and all the four towns in a meeting headed by the president of the union Waheed Ahmed Rao asked the provincial government to restore the procedure and the name of the PDA.
The employees of the PDA were readjusted in the city district, towns, the local council board and local government department but were deprived of their due rights. These employees were neither considered employees of the local government department nor of the CDMD.
There were no service rules and service structure for these employees, the members observed.
