KARACHI: Two die in accident

KARACHI, Oct 18: Two persons died in separate road accidents in the city on Monday. A pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding Army vehicle underneath the Baloch Colony flyover.

Police said that 35-year-old Iqbal, an employee of the city government, was crossing the main road when hit by the vehicle. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The duty officer at the Ferozabad police station said that no FIR was lodged as the bereaved reached a compromise with the army personnel.

In the other accident, a motorcyclist, Abdul Samad, 30, was hit by a speeding bus of route no.1C near Gulbai Chowk in the jurisdiction of Shershah police station.

The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The errant driver escaped from the spot.
