KARACHI: Suspect dies in custody

KARACHI, Oct 15: A suspect died in police custody late on Thursday night. Police said that three suspects, Mohammad Arif Bux, 35, Nasir Ali and Qaiser Abbas, were arrested from the jurisdiction of Aziz Bhatti police station , who were roaming in a yellow cab (PG-1615) in Block 13, Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

However, on Thursday night, Mohammad Arif died in controversial circumstances in the lockup of the Aziz Bhatti police station. The police, quoting the victim's friends, claimed that the victim had cardiac problem. The police also claimed to have recovered two TT pistols from the possession of the held persons.

SHOT DEAD: A former unit in charge of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead by unknown persons in Korangi-2 on Friday. Police said that Zubair Ahmed alias Tuda, 38, was sitting at a hotel when two young men on a motorcycle sprayed him with bullets. He was released from jail some six months back, the police added.
