KARACHI, Oct 9: The Governor Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, on Saturday strongly advised graduates of the IBA to apply their acquired knowledge for uplifting local businesses and industries to distinction , and help secure a respectable place for Pakistan amongst the community of nations.
He was addressing graduating students of the batches 2002, 2003 and 2004, who were conferred on bachelors and masters degrees in business administration at a ceremony held at IBA Karachi on Saturday.
While appreciating the efforts put in by the faculty and management of the IBA, the governor underlined the need for according high priority to education, particularly higher education in view of the global challenges and opportunities.
Ibad in his address congratulated the fresh graduates, their teachers and parents.
The convocation was attended by parents of graduating students besides high-ranking government officials and members of the diplomatic community.
Mr Danishmand, Dean and Director, IBA presented the welcome address.
Gold medals were awarded to Ms Hafsa Zeeshan and Ms Nada Jamal Ahsan for the best students of years 2002 and 2003 receptively. Ms Shabnam Noor Ali and Ms Carisa P.S. De Souza were awarded the overall marketing gold medal for the years 2002 and 2003. While, Ms Saima Lakhani and Mr Imtiaz Gadar clinched the overall finance gold medals for the years 2002 and 2003. - PPI
