ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, have inked an accord to share resources in conducting research.

The agreement to this effect was signed by Member Bio- Sciences PAEC Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik and Dr Mohammad Arsalan on behalf of the UHS here on Friday.

An official statement said the cooperation envisaged pursuing a programme of scientific training and research, and technical collaboration for exchange of ideas, skills and techniques.

The protocol, which will remain operative initially for 10 years, will ensure mutual pooling of results and holding of national and international moots in advanced areas of scientific learning.

The UHS is a premier institution of medical education and one of its main objectives is to provide high-quality postgraduate education and research in basic medical sciences. It also plans to give special priority to investigation of diseases specific to the region along with preventive remedies.
