KARACHI: Boy dies in accident

KARACHI, Oct 3: A 12-year-old boy died in a road accident in Lyari on Sunday. Police said that the boy was crushed by two minibuses of route (N-4), speeding on the Massan Road, when he came on the road.

Following the incident, enraged area people damaged the vehicles and tried to set them on fire. However, police intervention saved the vehicles from public wrath. The victims' body was sent to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

In another hit-and-run accident, an unidentified young man died near New Sabzi Mandi. Police said that the victim was crossing over the Super Highway when an unknown speeding vehicle knocked him down.

ARRESTS: Police arrested two activists of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement on Saturday and claimed to have recovered unlicensed weapons from them. Quaidabad police said two brothers, Amjad alias Chamba and Arshad, were arrested following recovery of three TT pistols and a repeater gun.
