LAHORE: Two commit suicide

LAHORE, Sept 29: Two people committed suicide in different parts of the city on Wednesday. Quoting family, police said Roshan Khan, 38, a resident of a slum on the Ravi Road, took poison. He was taken to the Mayo Hospital where he died.

The police said the man had been jobless for well over one year and could not feed five members of his family. Meanwhile, Yaqoob of Jallo Pind told police that he worked as labourer to earn livelihood for his wife and five children. His wife Rizwana Bibi had been disturbed due to domestic problems.

Yaqoob said his wife took poison and was taken to hospital where she died. Meanwhile, a man, about 30, was killed when a train hit him in the Raiwind city. Quoting witnesses, the police said the man was found dead on the railway track. It could not be known immediately whether he had committed suicide or it was an accident.
