SAHIWAL: Five-hour power breakdown

SAHIWAL, Sept 23: Business came to a standstill due to an unscheduled five-hour power breakdown here from 9am to 2pm on Thursday.

Mepco Divisional Deputy Manager (Operations) Khawaja Aurangzeb has ordered an inquiry against the SDO and the line superintendent concerned.

KILLED: A security guard of a petrol pump near Chak 1/10-L (Harappa) has reportedly been killed after being kidnapped some four months ago. Police have registered a case against the accused, Rehmat Ali and Ghulam Ali, under Section 302/201 of the PPC and arrested both on the report of the wife of security guard Iqbal.

The arrested men have allegedly confessed to killing the guard over a property dispute. They are said to have thrown the body into the LBDC Canal.

ACCIDENT: Two persons riding a motorbike were killed in a road accident near Chak 90/9-L. Goga and Javed were shifted to hospital where they breathed their last.
