By Our Reporter
LAHORE, Sept 18: District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood has expressed concern over the rising number of complaints about food adulteration despite continuing crackdown on adulterators.
He said that the City District Government food squad was discharging its duties in respect of nabbing the food adulterators and forwarding cases for their trial to the courts of law. The adulterators, however, continued to play with the lives of the people for minting money.
Meanwhile, the CDG squad registered 84 cases of violation of Pure Food Rules against 83 restaurants inspected recently. As many as 144 samples of adulterated milk, curd, cooking oil, vegetable ghee, tomato ketchup being served to the customers were seized and sent for analysis.
The CDG price checking squad lodged FIRs against 16 shopkeepers found selling essential commodities at exorbitant rates in Baghbanpura, Shahdara and Wahdat Colony.
