ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: The United States will provide helicopters and other hi-tech security monitoring and surveillance equipment to Pakistan. A press release issued here quoted Marcus Hurley, president of Boeing (Middle East), as saying.

He called on senior federal minister and Minister for Defence Rao Sikandar Iqbal here on Thursday.

The minister apprised Mr Hurley about steps taken by Pakistan in fighting the war against terrorism. The minister also briefed Mr Hurley about the country's defence requirements.

Mr Hurley said that the company was working to assist Pakistan in the provision of defence equipment. Boeing (Middle East) is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is responsible for management of the company's corporate affairs and coordinating military programmes in the Middle East.
