PESHAWAR, Sept 11: Young engineers of the NWFP University of Engineering and Technology displayed their technical projects at a first-ever project exhibition here on Saturday.

The university arranged the event in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) and Pakistan Tobacco Company (PTC).

Prof M.A.Irfan, the organizer of the exhibition and chairman of mechanical engineering department, said the main objective of the exhibition was to provide a platform for graduating students to present their work to the industry.

This, in turn, provided them the opportunity of being recruited by employers then and there.

Prof Irfan said that this could be done only through maximising university-industry interaction.

He said that such exhibitions would also help engineering students to improve their presentation skills and technical expertise.

Fifteen projects were displayed by the UET graduates.

The design and fabrication of physiotheraupic walker, dissolution machine and instant water heater were the projects adjudged the 'best three'.

Certificates were given to the participating graduates at the end of the event.
