KARACHI: Police ordered to restore writ of law

KARACHI, Sept 10: Sindh Chief Secretary Aslam Sanjrani has expressed concern over increasing road accidents, vehicle-snatching and dacoities in Karachi and growing incidents of kidnapping in the interior of Sindh, especially Kashmor area.
In a communication to the Additional DIG Sukkur Range, CCPO Karachi and DIG Traffic Karachi, he called for appropriate measures to ensure security of people's life and property.
Taking notice of rampant violation of law affecting governance, Mr Sanjrani impressed upon the officials that an effective strategy be adopted to ensure maximum possible safety and security for all citizens by preventing accidents and commission of crime. He stressed that supremacy of law throughout the province be ensured.
Mr Sanjrani has also sent clippings of the reports pertaining to various incidents of crime and accidents. He particularly quoted reports of dacoities in jewellers street, besides similar incidents in North Karachi, Korangi, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Orangi Town and many other areas.
In this regard, he emphasized the need for restoring writ of law by dealing with anti-social elements sternly. The chief secretary has asked the officials to submit with in a week details of the strategy adopted by them and also the action taken to ensure people's safety and security. He has asked the ADIG Sukkur Range to submit a report about the incidents of kidnapping and vehicle-snatching in his jurisdiction.
