MMA leaders condemn raids on Madressahs

By Correspondent

MINGORA, Sept 5: Leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal have condemned the raids on Madressahs and accused the government of harassing the religious scholars at the behest of the United States.

Speaking at a function held at a Madressah in Matta (upper Swat) on Sunday, provincial ministers Maulana Amanullah Haqqaani, Qari Mehmood, Maulana Fazal Subhan MNA, Maulana Hohammad Hanif and Maulana Habibul Nabi said every Muslim was ready to render sacrifices for the protection of madressahs.

They claimed that conspiracies were being hatched against the MMA at all levels, but no body could create rifts in its ranks. They recounted the policies being pursued by the MMA government in the NWFP and said all measures had been taken for the betterment of people.
