RAWALPINDI, Sept 2: A man was stabbed to death, while his wife was also attacked and wounded by their rival at Dhoke Syedan, RA Bazaar, on Thursday, police said. The police said Wajid Ali and Abbas had been residing in a double-storey house, but a few months ago, the later shifted to another house.

Wajid Ali, 40, had been demanding electricity dues from Abbas, who refused to pay, which resulted in a brawl between them on Wednesday. However, the issue was settled between them at that time, but Abbas came to Wajid's house early Thursday morning and allegedly stabbed him to death.

Saima Bibi, wife of Wajid, rushed to her husband's rescue on hearing his screams, but she was also stabbed and injured by the accused, who escaped from the scene. The injured woman was shifted to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.
