By Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Aug 27: A contingent of the Pakistan Army engineers left for Ivory Coast on Friday to join the UN peacekeeping mission in the African country, said a press release.

The peacekeepers would provide humanitarian assistance to and maintain peace and security in Ivory Coast.

General Commanding Officer Maj-Gen Mir Haider Ali Khan saw the contingent off at the Peshawar international airport.

Speaking on the occasion, he told the troops to uphold the tradition the Pakistan Army had set while serving in various missions under the aegis of the United Nations.
