LAHORE: Lahorites throng parks after rain

LAHORE, Aug 22: Mid-day rain in the city on Sunday made weather pleasant, prompting people to throng parks and other recreational places.

The heavy rain was accompanied by a strong wind in areas around Faisal Town, Jouhar Town, Wapda Town and Thokar Niaz Beg.

The local Met office also reported rain in some other cities in the province and in the Northern Areas. It recorded 13mm of rain at Jallo, 10mm at Township, 4mm at Jail Road and 3mm at the airport.

The maximum temperature was 34.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum 27 degrees Celsius with 81 per cent humidity in the morning and 71 per cent in the evening.

According to the Met office, Sialkot received 10mm rain, Faisalabad 9mm, Jhang 8mm, Parachinar 6mm, and Islamabad 2mm. It predicted more rain in Lahore and some other cities during the next 24 hours.
