KHAR: Fake domiciles cancelled

By Our Correspondent

KHAR, Aug 8: The tribal administration on Saturday cancelled 50 domiciles issued to Afghans and other non-residents of the agency and started a probe against tribal maliks and others who had attested their papers.

Talking to Dawn, an official said various Afghan refugees studying in local institutions had acquired domicile certificates of the agency. Some non-local students also had obtained domiciles to get admission to professional colleges against seats reserved for the agency.

It is learnt that in most of the cases the tribal maliks and the staff of the concerned department received money from the students for preparing illegal certificates.

All Bajaur Students Welfare Association chairman Irfanullah Khan said the association had all the evidence that domiciles had been issued to those who were not a permanent resident of the agency, including Afghan refugees during the last two years by the authorities concerned.

The official claimed that action would be taken against all the maliks who had attested necessary documents of non-residents and Afghan refugees for the preparation of domiciles.
